Where

The Abbey is situated twenty minutes from the centre of Carcassonne in an area called Ladern Sur Lauquet in the South of France. It is tucked away among the trees of the national forest of Western Corbieres in the valley of the clear stream, which gives the Abbey its name. This is a small Cistercian Abbey built in the 12th century where six sisters live and work. I have known the sisters for over 12 years and have organised a number of women’s retreats during that time.

The Abbey is remote and far from everything, as you travel to the Abbey the more narrow the road gets the more you let go of everything that is filling your mind all your worries and preoccupations.

What

This retreat is a monastic experience, living the rhythm of life at the Abbey. It is an opportunity to rest, restore and reconnect to your inner life, to the deepest part of your being, your longings and desires. In the deep silence of the Abbey and in relationship with the sisters you will discover how to live a way of life that nurtures your body, mind and soul and reconnects you to your unique place in the world.

You will live in the Abbey guesthouse, have meals prepared by the sisters, take walks, join in prayers, listen to talks and work each day supporting the sisters in their daily duties even have a massage.

Your guides

My very good friend and partner Virginie will be with us to translate, give talks and massages. Virginie has been working with the sisters for many years and lives close to the Abbey. She is a massage therapist, mother of three gorgeous children and wife to Aurelien who is an osteopath and physiotherapist.
